Children's Liturgy will return on September 28th!

Children's Liturgy of the Word is offered during the Sunday 8:30am and 11:00am Mass. After the opening prayer, the priest or deacon will invite children age 4-7 to come forward to process with the Children's Lectionary and Cross to the Old Chapel. Volunteer leaders and assistants will present the weekly Liturgy of the Word from the Children's Lectionary and will provide the children with a reflection and activities better suited for them. The children will return to their families in the Church during the Offertory prayers. There is no sign up - when the announcement is made at Mass, your child should come forward if they wish to participate. Parents are welcome to join in the fun too!

When? During the Sunday 8:30am and 11:00am Masses

Who can join? Children age 4-7 years old are invited to participate. Younger children can participate WITH a parent.

SEEKING ASSISTANCE

Come join our team! We are currently recruiting volunteers to serve as leaders and adult assistants for Children's Liturgy. If you love children, this is a wonderful opportunity to have fun and share faith with them during the first half of Mass. The more the merrier and the lighter the work load. This ministry is a beautiful way to welcome the children and see God through their eyes! If you are seeking hope in your life, this ministry will give you a front row seat!

If you are an adult interested in becoming a trained leader let us know. We also need adults, who are VIRTUS trained to assist as an extra set of hands duirng the sessions. For the safety of our children, two VIRTUS trained adults must be in the room at all times. If you are trained, or are willing to participate in the one-time 3-hour training "Protecting our Children" consider helping us out. We will hold a Children's Liturgy Leader Meeting on September 10th at 7:00pm in the Old Chapel. All leaders should attend! We will give you your leader packets with all the ideas and scripting you need to lead a successful session. In addition, we will cover supplemental resources, and leadership tips and tricks for having fun and maintaining order.

Teens we hope you will lend a hand too! If you are or know a youth in grades 7-12, and you love children, come help! Your participation with these little ones is sure to spark joy and you serve as wonderful role models!
